Number 200

This is my 200th post. This is a bittersweet post.

I just found out about two jobs, I was hoping for, are not going to work out.  I am very disappointed.  I have been feeling this wasn't the path for me (to go back to work full time) but it is still very hard to deal with.  Pride gets in the way.  The construction world and teacher world are just not the professions to be in right now, especially in California.   So I don't know what is going to happen.   I know we will be blessed.  But I feel it is still our responsibility to do all we can.  I will be researching other possibilities for the next little while.

In the mean time I get to be with this little girl.  She is such a joy.  I tried doing her hair like my cousin Steph and sister Katie did with their little girls.  As you can see we were very successful!

The day finally came........

Cat needed some surgery.
She was getting so floppy, she seemed on her last leg.
So she got some new stuffing and is back to.... um, well, new, so to speak.
She is back to her "full" form.
Notice her white fluffy interior never before seen.
How lovely to see what her pristine white fur used to look like.

And someone is very happy about that.

Thursdays with Amy

I am sitting in my classroom watching one of my favorite shows...... "Tuesdays with Morrie" Based on the book by Mitch Albom, it depicts a story of a man on his way to death, and he takes us along for the ride. Mitch rekindles his friendship with his teacher, Morrie Schwartz, a retired college professor, who has ALS, or Lou Gerhigs disease. I show it at the end of teaching our Mental Health unit. To me, Morrie is the opitome of one who is mentally healthy. He is dying yet he is positive and still teaches others, mainly Mitch, how to love, die, be dependent on each other, and on and on. One of my favorite quotes he states, "We must love each other or die." He goes on to talk about how when we are babies we crave love, to be cuddled and held. We need others to care for us. And at the end of our lives we depend on others just as much, but it is in the middle where we need each other the most. I just love that counsel from this teacher. It renews me to try and stay positive and happy. Even when this man is dying he makes jokes and teaches us to be happy. Just thought I would share. Check it out.

Can't wait for GNO!
